YOYO
BISCUITS RECIPE
This is a very easy recipe
to make. My mother used to make YoYo Biscuits and she used
to sit them all on the biscuit trays and let us make the fork
marks on the top of the YoYo Biscuits. I loved cooking with
my mother as dad and her were both cooks and they were very
patient with us. If you like you can also spread some jam
on one of the YoYo Biscuits and then the filling and join
together. Put your feet up and enjoy a cuppa and a biscuit.
YoYo Biscuits
Ingredients
6 oz butter
6 oz plain flour
3 oz icing sugar
2 oz custard powder
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
Filling:
1 tsp butter
1 1/2 Tbs cocoa
1 cup icing sugar
1 Tbs boiling water
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
YoYo Biscuits
Method
Put the
butter and icing sugar into a large bowl and cream it. Then
add the plain flour and custard powder together in another
bowl and then mix the flour into the creamed butter and flavour
with vanilla. Take spoonfuls of the mixture and roll into
balls in the hands. Place on a greased biscuit tray and press
each biscuit lightly with the back of a fork. Place in a moderate
oven 350 degrees and bake for 20 minutes but make sure you
do not let the biscuits brown. Let them get cold and then
join them together in pairs with the chocolate filling.
To make the filling put the
icing sugar and cocoa into a bowl together and add boiling
water and butter. Beat until smooth and then flavour with
vanilla. Now join the YoYo Biscuits together with the filling
and enjoy eating them with a cup of coffee.
Enjoy your freshly made YoYo
Biscuits!
