there is a fabulous meal cooked ready to eat at the end of
a long tiring day. This Steak Soup is one recipe I like to
make in winter. The flavours of the beef, onions, celery,
carrots, tomatoes and mixed vegies are just some of the ingredients
that go into making this a wonderful tasting soup recipe.

Soup Ingredients
1/2 cup flour
3 cups water
1/2 cup butter
1/2 tsp pepper
2 carrots sliced
1 lb ground beef
1 onion chopped
3 stalks celery chopped
2 tsp beef base granules
14 1/2 oz can diced tomatoes
10 oz package frozen mixed vegetables
Steak
Soup Method
Put the meat into a frying
pan and cook till brown then drain it. Put all ingredients
except butter and flour into crockpot and cook for 8 hours
on low or 4 hours on high. Melt the butter over medium heat
and stir in flour until smooth then add the mixture to the
soup and stir until thickened. Serve the Steak Soup in soup
bowls with a crusty hot buttered bread roll.

STIFFADO
RECIPE
This
recipe will teach you how to make Stiffado. It is a quick
and easy recipe to make. Stiffado
is a great crockpot recipe to make. Stiffado is a tasty greek
stew made very easy in the crockpot. My family all love the
Stiffado with new boiled potatoes or rice.
Stiffado Ingredients
1
bay leaf
1 tsp white sugar
1 Tbs vegetable oil
4 cloves garlic minced
3 Tbs red wine vinegar
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1 1/2 cups tomato sauce
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
3 onions peeled and diced
1 cup crumbled feta cheese
2 lb stewing beef cut into 1 inch cubes
Stiffado
Method
Heat oil in a skillet over
medium high heat and brown beef adding more oil if needed.
Transfer beef to slow cooker with a slotted spoon. Reduce
heat to medium and add onions to skillet cooking until soft
then add garlic, cinnamon and allspice and cook for 1 minute.
Add vinegar, tomato sauce, sugar and bay leaf and stir well
to combine. Pour mixture over meat. Cover and cook on low
for 8 to 10 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours until beef is
tender. Add feta cheese and cover again and cook on high for
10 minutes. Discard bay leaf and serve the Stiffado over new
boiled potatoes or rice.
