CHICKEN
AND DUMPLINGS RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Chicken and Dumplings . It is a
quick and easy recipe to make. This
recipe for Chicken and Dumplings really makes me hungry. I
once saw my aunty making dumplings on top of a beef stew so
I thought why not put them on chicken and that is how I came
to make Chicken and Dumplings.
Chicken
and Dumplings Ingredients
2 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1/3 cup flour
4 cups water
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tsp parsley minced
1 carrot peeled and sliced
1/2 cup onion coarsely chopped
1 stewing chicken cut into pieces
3 stalks celery with leaves cut into chunks
BISCUIT DUMPLINGS:
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup crisco
2 cup self rising flour
Chicken
and Dumplings Method
Combine chicken, water, celery,
carrot, onion, salt and pepper in a large covered pot and
bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer for 2 1/2 hours. Remove
chicken to a plate and strain the broth, measure and add enough
water to make 3 cups liquid. Mix together flour and milk.
Return broth to pot and bring to a boil. Stir in flour and
milk mixture and cook until thickened stirring constantly
and simmer 3 to 5 minutes. Return chicken pieces to gravy
and cover. Prepare dumplings. Drop by spoonfuls into gently
bubbling gravy then cover the pot and cook 20. Before serving
the Chicken and Dumplings sprinkle with parsley.
BISCUIT DUMPLINGS:
Cut Crisco into flour and stir in milk then drop by spoonfuls
into broth. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Enjoy your freshly made Chicken
