CHICKEN
AND DUMPLING CASSEROLE RECIPE
This recipe

Chicken
and Dumpling Casserole Ingredients
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp dried basil
1/4 cup margarine
4 cups chicken broth
2 tsp granulated sugar
2 garlic cloves minced
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup all purpose flour
10 oz frozen green peas
4 cups cubed cooked chicken
Dumplings:
2/3 cup milk
2 tsp dried basil
2 cups buttermilk biscuit mix
Chicken
and Dumpling Casserole Method
In large pan saute onion, celery
and garlic in margarine until tender. Add flour, sugar, salt,
basil, pepper and broth then bring to a boil. Cook and stir
for 1 minute and reduce heat. Add peas and cook for 5 minutes
stirring constantly then stir in chicken. Pour into greased
13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish. Now make the dumplings. Combine
biscuit mix and basil in a bowl then stir in milk with a fork
until moistened. Drop by tablespoonfulls onto casserole 12
dumplings. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cover
and bake the Chicken and Dumpling Casserole 10 minutes more
or until dumplings are done.
