CARAMEL
ICE CREAM RECIPE
Caramel Ice Cream is a great
tasting ice cream. This Caramel Ice Cream is so easy to make
and its always good to serve homemade ice cream up to the
family, it looks real good served in a white bowl as the colour
is a wonderful contrast to the white bowl.
Caramel
Ice Cream Ingredients
1 tsp gelatine
1/2 cup sugar
1 dsp cold water
1/2 cup boiling water
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 1/2 cups chilled canned unsweetened milk
Caramel
Ice Cream Method
Make sure the canned milk is
well chilled before use. In a heavy base saucepan over gentle
heat dissolve the sugar stirring till it is a honey colour.
Take off the heat and add the boiling water and stir until
blended, if necessary returning the pan to the heat to dissolve
the caramel. Soften the gelatine in cold water and stand it
over hot water to dissolve. Add to the caramel mixture together
with half a cup of chilled canned milk. Chill until the mixture
begins to thicken. Beat the remaining cup of canned milk until
thick then fold in the caramel mixture. Flavour with the vanilla.
Place the Caramel Ice Cream in the refridgerator trays and
freeze until mushy. Turn out into a chilled bowl and beat
scraping down the mixture from the sides of the bowl. Return
the Caramel Ice Cream to the refridgerator trays and freeze
until set.
