BRANDIED
ORANGE SLICES RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Brandied Orange Slices. It is a
quick and easy recipe to make. I
live where oranges grow so the Brandied Orange Slices are
a wonderful thing to make. When visitors come to stay I always
make up Brandied Orange Slices as it is a good way of showing
people a different way of having oranges.
Brandied
Orange Slices Ingredients
1 cup water
6 Tbs sugar
4 Tbs brandy
6 ripe oranges
2 tsp cornflour

Orange Slices Method
Take an
orange and wash it then grate enough peel from the oranges
to make 1 tablespoonful and then peel them and remove all
the white pith and the centre cores. Now slice the orange
neatly and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar and then add
the brandy. Allow to stand for 30 minutes. Combine cornflour
with the remainder of the sugar and blend it with a little
of the cold water, then stir in the remainder of the water.
Drain the juice and the brandy from the cut up oranges and
stir this in to. Cook stiring well until the syrup boils and
thickens slightly. Cook for 1 minute then add grated orange
rind. Pour this syrup over the oranges making sure to lift
the slices so that it runs through them. Chill well and serve
as a dessert. Garnishing each serving with a cherry.
