BOYSENBERRY
SYRUP PIE RECIPE
I never like boysenberries
but after tasting mums Boysenberry Syrup Pie I definately
changed my mind about boysenberries. And now I am cooking
the Boysenberry Syrup Pie for my family. The flavour of this
pie is really exceptional.
Boysenberry
Syrup Pie Ingredients
1 pie crust
1 cup water
2 egg yolks
1 tsp butter
2 egg whites
3 Tbs cornstarch
1 Tbs boysenberry Syrup
1 cup boysenberry Syrup
Boysenberry
Syrup Pie Method
Combine the cup syrup, water
and corstarch and bring to a boil and keep stirring until
thick and then remove it from the heat. Beat egg yolks and
add a bit of the hot syrup mixture to the yolks whisking constantly.
Add the yolk mixture to the hot syrup and reheat until pudding
consistency. Add the butter and stir until melted and cool
it slightly and then pour into pie crust. Beat egg whites
stiff adding slowly the tablespoon of syrup. If soft peaks
do not form add a little more syrup and then put it onto the
Boysenberry Syrup Pie and place into a 400 degree oven until
peaks have browned. Remove and cool. Serve with custard or
whipped cream.
