BANANA
NUT SQUARES RECIPE
When I make my Banana Nut Squares
I usually mark where I'm going to cut it into squares and
put a piece of dried banana on top of each square. But you
don't have to do that with your Banana Nut Squares that is
just my idea, you may decide to put a bit of icing on your
Banana Nut Squares. What ever you choose to put on top will
be alright, or just leave them plain. This is an excellent
diabetic treat.
Banana
Nut Squares Ingredients
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup sour cream
2/3 cup margarine
3 tsp sweet 'n low
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 cup mashed bananas
1/2 cup chopped nuts
2 eggs, separated stiffly beat whites
Banana
Nut Squares Method
First thing
to do is take a bowl and add the sweet 'n low and margarine
and cream them together. Take the egg yolks and add them to
the creamed mixture and mix well and then add the bananas
and sift the dry ingredients into the mixture. Add alternately
with sour cream to shortening mixture and mix until well blended.
Add vanilla, stiffly beaten egg whites and nuts. Pour the
Banana Nut Squares into two 8 x 8 inch square pans at this
stage I like to cut the top into squares and put a piece of
banana on top. This recipe doesn’t rise like regular bars.
And cook the Banana Nut Squares until golden in a moderate
oven. Take them out of oven and put on wire rack to cool.
Enjoy your freshly made Banana
Nut Squares!
