CRUMB PIE RECIPE
Apple Crumb Pie now that sounds
like it would go real good after a great meal.This Apple Crumb
Pie is a simple dessert but is really tasty. My mother and
father were both cooks so we got some real good recipes off
them. The Apple Crumb Pie was a favourite for the army men
that my dad cooked for. A simple thing like an Apple Crumb
Pie would remind them of home cooked meals with there families.
Apple
Crumb Pie Ingredients
4 cups apples
1 unbaked pie crust
2 Tbs butter
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup butter melted

Crumb Pie Method
Take the
apples and peel, core and slice them. Melt the 2 tablespoons
butter and then mix in the sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon and
pour over the apples and mix it in so the apples are coated
with it. Put this mixture into the unbaked pie shell. For
the topping combine the brown sugar, melted butter, flour
and nuts then spread the mixture over the top of the filling
in the pie shell. Bake the Apple Crumb Pie in the oven at
375 degrees for 50 minutes or until bubbling. Serve with custard
and cream.
