APPLE
BROWN BETTY RECIPE
I love recipes where you can
put everything in one pot and cook it and the Apple Brown
Betty recipe is one of these recipes. You can plan ahead and
have the Apple Brown Betty ready to serve after dinner. If
you are like me I have 2 crockpots that way I can have the
Apple Brown Betty cooking in one and a lovely roast and vegies
in the other crockpot.
Apple
Brown Betty Ingredients
3 lb cooking apples
10 slices of bread, cubed
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cups brown sugar
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp salt

Brown Betty Method
First thing
to do is wash the apples and then peel and core the apples
and then cut into eighths and place them in the bottom of
the crockpot. Toss together the bread cubes, cinnamon, nutmeg,
salt, sugar and butter. Put this mixture on top of the apples
in the crockpot. Put the crockpot into the outer shell and
put the lid on it. On the low setting cook the Apple Brown
Betty for 2 to 4 hours. Really good served with custard and
cream.
