ABERNETHY
BISCUITS RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Abernethy Biscuits. It is a quick
and easy recipe to make. What
a wonderful easy recipe for Abernethy Biscuits especially
if you want biscuits for school lunches. My grandsons love
these Abernethy Biscuits, when they visit after school they
love having them for an afternoon snack with a glass of milk.
I'm sure your whole family will enjoy them.
Abernethy
Biscuits Ingredients
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 dsp lemon juice
4 oz butter
1 egg yolk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp caraway seeds
1/2 tsp grated lemon rind
Abernethy
Biscuits Method
In a large
mixing bowl add the flour and baking powder then with your
finger tips rub the butter into it. Now you can add the lemon
rind, caraway seeds and the sugar. In another small bowl beat
the lemon juice and the egg yolk. Now you can add this mixture
to the dry ingredients and mix it good to a firm biscuit dough.
After you have done this put the dough into the refrigerator
and chill it well.
When the dough has chilled well turn it onto a lightly floured
board and roll it to 1/8 inch thick and then cut it into circles.
Grease a biscuit tray and place the biscuits on it. Using
a fork prick the top of each biscuit. Bake the Abernethy Biscuits
in a moderate oven, 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until
golden.
Enjoy your freshly made Abernethy
Biscuits!
